Hello! My name is Val. I’m an independent hairstylist with 10 years of experience. I specialize in razor cutting, haircutting and low maintenance styling. I am also versatile in doing color as well. I am located in an independent co-working loft space that is very different than your traditional salon. I work for myself and I take pride in my services. I like to take my time with in-depth consultations to make sure each client gets exactly what they’re looking for while keeping things realistic. I like to gravitate my taste in style with modern but edgy alternative looks. I am also open to more neutral a low maintenance softer looks as well. I’m very into astrology, cats and movies. I’ve always enjoyed art and see my craft as art as well. I like to take each haircut as a sculpture while keeping in mind that it is something that you will have to wear and style and perfect every day. I am an Aquarius if that matters to you! I see everything from an outside perspective that I like to visualize before applying. A little more about me: I was born and raised in the city of Chicago, and my family is originally from Lima, Peru. I also spent some time living in Los Angeles, CA. Outside of hair, I enjoy unique hobbies and crafts, painting, custom sewing, and all things art. 🎨 I also love music and movies—mostly punk and rock, but I’m just as happy with pop, ’90s R&B, and even a little country. When it comes to movies, I’m into horror, ’80s and ’90s classics, and of course a good reality TV dating show.
